Can I post or accept a shift right now?
No. On Demand Barista is currently a founding waitlist, not live dispatch software. There are no active shifts, matches, or under-an-hour fills yet.
What happens when I join?
You register your city and begin an early café or barista profile. Your interest helps us see where both sides of a local network are forming, and we’ll use your contact information for launch updates.
When will my city activate?
There is no fixed date or signup number yet. We’ll activate a city only after enough local cafés and baristas have joined to make the network useful, then invite founding members first.
Is this only for Portland?
Portland, Oregon is the first focus because we’re starting locally and verifying relationships by hand. Nationwide interest is welcome, and waitlist activity will help determine which city comes next.
Is the under-an-hour fill guaranteed?
No. A fast fill in under an hour is the planned product goal, not a current feature or guarantee. Actual response times will depend on local availability once matching launches.
How will fees and shift pay work?
The planned platform fee is a flat $5 billed to the café for a successful placement. The café and barista will agree on and exchange shift payment directly, outside On Demand Barista.
Who will verify a work-history claim?
Only a café manager our founder has personally confirmed will be able to confirm or decline a claim naming that café. A confirmed workplace can then become a café badge.
